How to Make MORE Money on Instagram (WITHOUT Thousands of Followers OR a Picture-Perfect Life)!

Today we're going to talk about how to make more money on Instagram without thousands of followers or a picture perfect life. And what it really comes down to is a question I have for you. Are you approaching Instagram as an “Instagrammer” or as a “business owner?”

The biggest difference between the two is the thought and the intention behind what you're going to do with your time on the platform. The Instagrammer logs onto Instagram with two main purposes - to share something that they've created and to consume content.

They're just scrolling through the feed and Instagram stories. They are looking at stuff that's been shared by their friends, their colleagues, their Biz besties, whatever it may be.

You see, that's what an Instagrammer is doing on Instagram, but if you want to use Instagram to grow your business, you have to approach the platform completely differently. Simply logging onto Instagram to share some content and to consume will not move your business forward. It's not going to help you get more leads or inquiries, or downloads or members or students, or whatever it is you're trying to get from Instagram.

As a business owner, you have to have a purpose and intention behind your actions, otherwise you’ll just be wasting your time. Also, you need to know a few key things.

You have to be completely clear about who you’re talking to, where they are in the world, what their problems are that you are solving for them through your product or service, how you can best support them through your content, and  how you can move them to take action through the things that you say and the posts that you share.

The business owner knows who they are talking to. So then in turn, the business owner can create high quality content that speaks directly to that ideal follower and can convert that follower to a customer. You see, the business owner is not just posting to post. The business owner is posting with thought and intention and purpose into the content that they share.

And I would even go as far as to say that the business owner who's using Instagram thoughtfully and intentionally to grow their business is the type of person that is always sharing content that drives conversions. Their content moves their audience closer and closer to buying what they are selling.

The final thing that the business owner does on Instagram that's totally different than the Instagrammer is that the majority of the time a business owner spends on Instagram is going toward engaging on Instagram.

Engagement takes thoughtful and intentional connections with other people. It takes going out and connecting with people who don't even follow you, liking and commenting on other people's posts who aren't even a part of your community, and responding to direct messages and comments.

The idea I want to leave you with today is I “How am I using Instagram like - an ‘Instagrammer’ or a ‘Business Owner?’”

Every time you pull your phone out and you open up Instagram, you, I want you to ask yourself, am I logging on Instagram right now as a business owner to share content with purpose, to engage with people, and to connect with other people?

Or am I logging on right now as an Instagramer simply just consume content or just to share something because it was on my to do list today to post on Instagram?

We feel so productive when we do that when we do that task. But here's the thing, if that task is not moving the needle for your business, if that task of posting on Instagram is not pulling your audience and getting them closer and closer to what you sell, if that task of posting on Instagram is not with purpose and intention to convert your follower to a customer, then why the heck are you even wasting your time posting?

Just some food for thought…
