FACEBOOK GROUP RULES

By remaining part of “The Instagram Advantage with Tyler J. McCall,” you agree to the following rules. You also understand that failure to abide by these rules will result in you and/or your posts being removed from the group.

PS: I curse. So, ummm, hope you're okay with that.

NO SELF PROMOTION

Ugh, groan! Am I right? Okay, y’all, here’s the thing: this group is about community and relationships (spoiler alert: just like Instagram). It’s not about your promoting your latest offer, selling your new services, or getting people to check out your opt-in.

That means you...

  • should not sell stuff - products, services, courses, events, leggings, essential oils, hair restoration creams...

  • should not direct people to your opt-in/landing/squeeze/content upgrade page

  • should not promote a live event like a webinar

  • should not use this group to collect email addresses

  • should not share affiliate links

  • should not post your stuff (blog, podcast, Facebook post, etc.) into the group unless it’s in response to a question or topic in a relevant thread - no unsolicited "check out this latest blog/podcast/video" posts

  • should not post super lengthy posts that are actually a blog post that you just copied and pasted (you ain’t foolin’ nobody, boo)

  • should not share your social media handles or URLs to get people to follow you on social media (except for the designated Follow Friday thread)

  • should not subtly get people to inquire about your product(s) or service(s) by slyly asking for feedback on your product or service name or price (none of those, "I'm offering this new thing at this price and it includes this, that, and the third...what do you think about the name/price/service I'm offering?")

  • should not request people check out your website “for feedback”

If it walks like a promo and it talks like a promo and it feels like a promo...it’s probably a promo.

GIVE BEFORE YOU TAKE

This group is about community, relationships, and support. You should be here to connect with other entrepreneurs - not to just get something from everyone else. Focus on giving in the community before asking for help or feedback.

TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU KNOW

I believe in talking from your personal experiences and areas of expertise. Don’t try to be a photography expert if you’ve never taken a photo. Don’t try to tell people how to run their business if you haven’t made a profit.

Talking about what you know also means that we don’t spread rumors, talk about “what we heard,” or have generally unproductive conversations.

DON’T BE AN ASSHOLE

You should be polite, helpful, encouraging, supportive, and engaging. That means no belittling folks, no harsh words or language directed toward people, and no showboating or bragging.

Act like your momma raised you right.

NO VIDEOS

I’ve decided to keep the group free of videos from other folks because I would have to watch each video posted into the group to make sure it’s okay and that’s a shit ton of work, y’all!

No videos means do NOT

  • do a Facebook Live into the group

  • share videos you create on your Facebook page

  • post videos you find elsewhere online - no matter how good they are

I’ll go live in this group from time-to-time to learn you some things!

NO SOLICITING OR “PM ME TO LEARN MORE” POSTS

That shit is real annoying. So don’t do it.

If you can’t say it in the group, out in the open for the whole world to see, it doesn’t need to be said.

And, no sending messages to members of the group if they didn't ask you to. Don’t spam folks via personal message - you’ll get the boot.

DON’T PM THE ADMIN AND MODS
